Cheesy Snacks: Sam and Able

Cheese Product(s): Cheese Curls, Puffin Corn, Doritos and Cheddar Fries.

Quality Scale: Freshness, Cheesiest and Crunchiness.
Rating- 1 to 5. 1-Average 2- Nice 3-Good 4-Great 5-Awesome
Cheese Curls
Out of our cheese products, Cheese Curls are the best buy because they are .11 cents per ounce. Cheese Curls didn’t have much of a crunch though. The crunch can only be heard from the eater and someone sitting close by the eater. But it makes up for its lack in crunch by its amazing cheesy flavor. Cheese Curls taste great without a lot of salt, a great cheese taste and an ounce is very cheap. On our quality scale we are looking for the Cheesiest, Freshest and most Crunchiest Cheese Product. The curls were fresh, they were very cheesy but not to cheese overload and they were definitely crunchy, every time you bite into one it crunches. I recommend this product to anyone who likes cheese.

Puffin Corn
Also in our cheese products is Puffin Corn, even though Puffin Corn is very cheesy and taste good it doesn’t have a crunch at all really. Puffin corn just dissolves in your mouth and doesn’t have a crunch to it. Puffin Corn has too much cheese sometimes so it takes some time to eat it because of its cheese overload. Sometimes I can just breeze through the bag. On other occasions it takes me up to 3-4 days to finish the bag. I recommend this product to someone who really enjoys cheese, but not so much about the crunch.

Doritos
What we were looking for in the snacks were freshness, cheesiness, crunch, and a salt/cheese balance. Doritos are fresh, cheesy, and crunchy. The only two problems is that they don’t have a salt /cheese balance and they are the second most expensive cheesy snack. They aren’t good for people who do not like salty foods/snacks. Besides this, they are the crunchiest cheesy snack and they have so much flavor you can still taste them 5 minutes after you eat them. So you probably won’t mind paying a few more cents for Doritos. I recommend Doritos to people who like things with a big crunch.

Cheddar Fries

What we were looking for in the snacks is freshness, cheesiness, crunch, and a salt /cheese balance. Cheddar fries fresh, cheesy, they have a salt/cheese balance, and extra, they have a lot of different spices and flavors. One problem is that they are not that crunchy. They also are the most costly cheesy snack being 30 cents an ounce. But I say it is worth it. The taste makes up for all the problems. Taste wise, Cheddar fries are the best. They combine flavors of cheesy, salty, and a touch of spice. I recommend Cheddar Fries to people who like different flavors mixed together.

Chocolate Chip Dip: Jaida and Lucy

Chocolate Chip Cookies

The Vista Chocolate Chip Cookies cost $1.29 for a 32 oz package, which means you are paying $.04 per ounce. We taste tested the cookies looking for the best after taste, amount of chocolate chips, crunchiness and moistness. After tasting these, we found that they were very dry, way too crunchy, and had a very bad aftertaste. They are the best buy but not the best tasting. Although, they are the cheapest cookies, we think it would be worth it to pay a little more for a better taste.

The Pepperidge Farm Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies cost $1.00 for a 4 oz bag, which means you are paying $.25 per ounce. These cookies have the lowest whole price, but the highest price per ounce and the bag is very small. We also test tasted these cookies looking for the best aftertaste, amount of chocolate chips, crunchiness, and moistness. After testing them, we found that they were very crunchy and not very moist. They had many chocolate chips but a really bad after taste. This definitely is not the best buy or best taste.

The Murray’s Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies cost $2.99 for a 32 oz package, which means you pay $.08 per ounce. These cookies were definitely the best tasting but they are a little pricey. After testing them for the best after taste, amount of chocolate chips, crunchiness and moistness we found that they have a lot of chocolate chips and the perfect amount of crunchiness. They had a great taste. We think the extra $.04 is worth it. These cookies are definitely recommended.

The Best Chocolate Ever: Frankie and Evan

Evan and I tested chocolate candies for our consumer project. We tested Take 5, M&Ms, Fifth Avenue, and Hershey’s with almonds. For each
candy we rated the following qualities to discover which candy is the best: softness, taste, taste combination, and creaminess. We based the scale from 1-5, 5 being the best.
Scale: 1 = bad 2= somewhat 3 = okay 4 = very good 5 = great
Take 5
A Take 5 is a chocolate candy bar with pretzels in it. It tastes crunchy because of the pretzels. A combination of chocolate and pretzels is not good to put together because the taste does not blend well. Evan and I figured that because of the poor candy combination it was the worst candy we ever tasted.
M&M
An M&M has the chocolate on the inside and the color coated candy shell on the outside. It weighs .8 oz. It costs 80 cents per oz. This was the most expensive candy we tested. Although it was the most expensive, it was the creamiest, tastiest, softest, and the best candy combination. The M&Ms have an added bonus: they taste sweet! With all the perfect combinations, Evan and I recommend M&M candies to every chocolate loving consumer.
Hershey w/ Almonds.
The Hershey w/ almonds was good. It had the right amount of softness. It was .68 cents per oz. When we scaled it’s creaminess it came out 2.5. Then taste which was 3, so was softness. The taste combination was a little too crunchy, so we gave it a 2.5. That measured up to 11.

Fifth Ave.
The fifth ave was really crunchy. The taste was 1.5. It was .66 cents per oz. The creaminess was 1.5 because of the crunchiness. The taste was a 3. It wasn’t soft so it was a 1. The taste combination was good so it was a 3. That measured to 8.5.

Frankie and I recommend the mnm’s because they’re sweet.

Sour Treats: Shayla and Chloe

My partner Shayla and I rated sour candies on a scale from 1-5. We tested the candies by tasting them. We rated the flavor, the sweetness, the after taste, and the long lasting flavor. We rated all the candies in each category. Then, put our data into a graph.
Sour Mambas: These sour squares come in different flavors and colors. These fruity chews are usually $1 and they are 2.65oz per pack. So that means you pay 0.37 cents per oz. I think the prices for these treats are just right. They have an ok flavor, it’s kind of sweet, it has a great after taste, and the flavors last a good while.
Sour Skittles: These little rainbow colored balls have great flavor! They are kind of sweet and have a great after taste! The flavors of these little things might not last long, but they’re really good. The short lasting taste makes you want to pop more into your mouth! These little candies are usually around 0.75 cents and are 1.8 oz which means you pay 0.41 cents per oz.

Sour lifesavers: these lifesavers are the best sour product. They cost $1 for the single pack and weigh 2oz. For this product you pay 0.50 cents per ounce. This is the best product to me because the sourness was not really sour but sour then when you was all most done it turned sweet. That’s a really good candy because you don’t want it to be sour all the time eventually you want it to turn sweet.

Sour nerds: This product is one of the worst to Chloe and I. It cost 0.69 cents and weighs 1.6 ounces you pay 0.43 cents per ounce. This product was not sour unless you put a lot of nerds into your mouth and that right there is not a good product. You want the product to be sour with out having to eat a big amount of it cause then it goes away faster.
Chloe:
I would prefer the Sour Skittles over the Sour Mambas because the skittles taste better. Even though it costs more per oz, it’s only 0.04 cents more, so it’s worth it.
Shayla:
I prefer the sour lifesavers. The sour lifesavers were the best. They were long lasting and had a lot of sour taste. It also was sweet at the end which was a good twist to it. I like this product so much that I bought more the very next day.
